A re-edit form Grand Tetons. I really love some of the B&Ws that I got from the Tetons sessions. Majestic, dramatic jagged peaks, paired with glassy water makes for nice reflections.
Reflections are more than a visual gimmick. Used properly, they provide emphasis on shapes, lines and textures. Paired with purposeful framing, reflections can drift towards abstraction, like in this case.
The more I look at this shot, the more I realize that this is something I should strive more to achieve: A balance between a contextual shot of a beautiful subject, and a dosage of abstraction that reveals the underlying visual structure.
