Yet another arch in this year long tour. As the title suggests, in California.
Arches, natural bridges and similar rock formations, make compelling photographic subject matter.
As subjects, they offer lines volumes, textures and shapes waiting to be aesthetically revealed and celebrated. As elements of a bigger, contextual environment, they serve as a visual anchor or frame.
But I believe that just like other prominent landscape features, arches and bridges make a powerful connection with the human mind and imagination. Somehow, we are fascinated at the fact that nature sculpts shapes similar to humankind inventions.
Another aspect that make these formations sough after, is the fact that they are....well, scarce, rare and as time has demonstrated in later years, temporary (Landscape arch RIP 2008).
They fit that curios phrase, "natural wonder", as if by all accounts, there are things in nature that are not wonders?
This particular one, remind me a little bit of Mobius Arch, similar sexy curves and same texture and colors.
The series that I got out of this location is one of the finest from the whole tour.
